Overview
Designed by scientists for scientists
Labvironment wasn’t created using focus groups or market surveys it was created with the direct input from researchers just like you who needed a cost effect and easy to use LIMS system to help them keep organize and retrieve the data needed to do their daily research. It was inspired by the needs of researchers that needed to have better control over where things are in the lab and who is working on what and when.
Flexibility is the key
We know that no two labs work the same and that is why Labvironment has been designed with flexibility in mind. With its modular structure, labs can utilize just those modules that make sense for their work today and then add on other modules as their research expands into new areas. Once you select the modules you need to get started we will work with you to quickly and cost effectively customize each module to fit your data and workflow needs. Labvironment allows you to adapt the program to your labs requirements rather then trying to conform your workflow and data to fit a rigid prebuilt and inflexible system.
Collaborate easily
Using Labvironment all the members of your research staff have secure simultaneous access to the same data allowing everyone to work together. By enforcing nomenclature standardization and data integrity you will quickly notice greatly improved productivity and efficiency. Common features such as quick searches, standardized value lists for data input, and easy output of data as Excel or PDF documents give researchers the freedom to work quickly and independently. This decreases the dependence of certain individuals to be the sole caretakers of knowledge allowing everyone to function better as a team in the lab.
Built on a solid yet agile foundation
Labvironment is built upon the multiuser cross-platform relational FileMaker database platform. One of the primary strengths of the FileMaker platform is that it’s self contained and doesn’t rely on multiple technologies to create and maintain a solution. Many competing systems usually require a separate back end database, a different front end interface piece and then often a third party or separate reporting tool to deliver a complete system. This architecture not only makes these systems much more costly but also more complex to maintain and use or customize.
FileMaker based systems on the other hand are built using a single source platform that is easy to use and maintain keeping the costs down and the productivity up. Used in conjunction with the server side software, Labvironment can easily scale from 5 concurrent users all the way to 250 users making it ideally suited for research labs of almost any size. In addition the server has built in backup functions that can run as often as needed to insure that your data is always secure and restoration if needed is only minutes away.
